Raj Kundra seeks Anticipatory Bail from Bombay High Court in Cyber Police case

Businessman Raj Kundra has reached the Bombay High Court for getting anticipatory bail in the case which was registered by the cyber police in 2020.

Kundra, who is behind bars in a similar case related to pornography. This case was registered by the Mumbai police crime branch.

Kundra approached to High Court after the session Court had his anticipatory bail plea on Tuesday.

In the appeal, Kundra contended that his name was not mentioned in the FIR (First Information Report) which was filed by the cyber police, last year. He also stated that he had already provided a detailed statement to the police and has remained cooperative during the investigation.

Kundra stated that in February 2020, through one of his connections suggestions he had invested in a venture named Armsprime Media Pvt Ltd, which provide a digital platform for artists to present their talents and interact with clients and which works on a subscription model.

Kundra saw this opportunity as to gain profit and thought this to be a unique idea and hence he had invested in the venture. He claims that he was just associated with the company from February to December 2019. Kundra also stated that he never had initiated to take part in any contract building or content creation.

Kundra denies the allegations made by the Mumbai police crime branch in the pornography case and claims that the app “Hotshots” has nothing to do with pornography.

Kundra’s bail plea in the pornography case, where he has been directed to remains in custody is still pending before the Sessions Court.

The High Court will soon hear Raj Kundra’s appeal.
