POSCO Court grants Chennai Police custody of PSBB Teacher accused of sexual harassment

The Special Court of POSCO has granted Chennai police the custody of a teacher of Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan School, G Rajagopalan, accused of sexual harassment.

The custody comes after the teacher was arrested after several students of Class 11 and Class 12 along with the alumni of the school alleged the teacher for showing up for online classes with just a towel, touching students inappropriately, asking them out for movies, sharing adult content links on groups and passing sexual comments on female students.

According to the prosecution, charges were framed against the teacher and then after he was arrested under Section 11 and Section 12 of POSCO Act, Section 354(a) and 509 of Indian Penal Code and Section 67 and 67(a) of Information Technology Act.

The police demanded 5-day special custody from the special judge of exclusive trials of POSCO Cases but the Court granted only 3 days custody.

The accused denied all the allegations and has moved an application seeking bail before the court.

In conclusion, the Court ordered to produce the accused before the Court on 4 June at 3 PM.
