A Petition has been moved before the Allahabad High Court, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the mysterious death of Mahant Narendra Giri.

Mahant Narendra Giri, the President of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP), was found hanging in his room at Baghambari Math in Prayagraj on Monday.

The letter petition, drafted by Advocate Sunil Kumar, has been addressed to the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court through official email, requesting that the letter be treated as a Public Interest Litigation.

In the letter, Choudhary stated that he was informed by certain residents of Baghambari gaddi that the incident was triggered by a huge amount of Money Embezzlement.

Citing Security given to Mahant by the State Government, Choudhary wrote, “The entire country was shocked and the law and order of Prayagraj are in great danger due to this mishappening.”

According to Authorities, a purported suicide note was found inside the room of Mahant in which Mahant’s disciple, Anand Giri, and two others were blamed for the incident.

Besides that, the letter demanded that the investigation be transferred to the CBI, and also requested the suspension of the District Magistrate and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Prayagraj.
