The Supreme Court stated that the PIL preferred by Advocate Harsh Ajay Singh seeking the issuance of directions to the centre to reconsider the Agnipath Recruitment Scheme could be listed only after it is placed before the Chief Justice of India.

Justices CT Ravikumar and Sudhanshu Dhulia stated that “As per the circular, all such matters are to be placed before the CJI and if that’s done then we can consider.”

The plea stated that after the completion of the four-year tenure under the scheme, the Agniveers would not be matured so as to retain the self-discipline with the realization to become a better version of themselves both professionally and personally.
