The Patna High Court disposed of a plea after directing the concerned Authority for setting up the relief camps in the Flood affected Districts in the State of Bihar.
The Court asked the Authority in charge to provide adequate ration and food facilities to the poor, lactating and pregnant women and infants.
In efficacy to plea, the bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Sanjay Kumar observed that, “The authority concerned shall consider and dispose of it expeditiously and preferably within a period of three months from the date of its filing along with a copy of this order.”
The petition filed in the Patna High Court sought for directions to the authorities of State of Bihar for setting up various flood camps in rational proportion to the number of people affected as per the protocols set up under Section 19 of the Disaster management, 2005.
The plea filed sought the respondent authorities to also provide toilets and proper sanitation facilities for the refugees.
Issuing the aforesaid direction to the concerned authority, the Court ordered thus, “Needless to add, while considering such representation, principles of natural justice shall be followed and due opportunity of hearing afforded to the parties. Liberty is reserved to the petitioner to approach the Court, if the need rises subsequently on the same and subsequent cause of action.”
