On 29th November 2021, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh made an appearance before the commission probing the Corruption charges against the NCP leader Anil Deshmukh.
Upon Singh’s presence, Justice KU Chandiwal Commission, withdrew the Bailable Warrant issued against him and directed him to deposit Rs. 15,000 in the Chief Minister’s relief fund.
The Court had announced Singh absconding after which he had appeared in public on Thursday after six months, and gave his statement to the Mumbai Crime Branch.
In March this year, One-Member Commission was formulated to Investigate the Charges put by Singh against then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
The Committee has fined Param Bir Singh on various circumstances for not appearing before it and even issued a Bailable Warrant against him.
Param Bir Singh had Accused Anil Deshmukh stating that he had asked Police Officials to extort Rs. 100 crore per month from all the bars and restaurants in the city.
Singh made an appearance before Thane Police on Friday, 26 November related to the extortion Case filed against him and other Police Officers after the complaint of a local builder.
