The Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested Sushant Singh Rajput’s flat mate, Siddarth Pithani in the drug probe which had emerged when the Enforcement Directorate while investigating the death of famous Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput had shared alleged chats about substance use with the agency.
The case had even lead to the questioning of several high profile Bollywood celebs by the agency.
“Siddharth Pithani has been arrested and he will be shortly produced in court. No clean chit has been given to anyone.” Sameer Wankhede, In charge of Mumbai Zonal Unit, NCB confirmed.
Pithani was arrested from Hyderabad by the NCB after the agency got his phone and whatsapp details which provided certain evidence that he has some links with the drug suppliers.
Pithani, being his flatmate was the first one to see the actor hanging in his bedroom. He has in the past been questioned several times by the NCB in the drug probe.
Rhea Chakroaborty, Sushant’s girlfriend and her brother Showik were also arrested by the NCB last year in the drug probe. Rhea was granted bail by the Bombay High Court after almost a month in jail in October 2020 and her brother was also later let out on bail.
