The Madras High Court censured AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam for undermining the court by trying to change the judge hearing his plea against bylaws of AIADMK.

Justice Krishnan Ramaswamy said, “if you were really aggrieved by the observations made by this court you should have explored the legal remedy through an appeal and get the order set aside. Or you should have come to me to remove such portions of the order”.

The issue is regarding to memo moved by Panneerselvam and another petitioner before Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari to transfer hearing of their suits to another judge.

The counsel for the leader requested the court to adjourn the hearing in view of the representation made to the Chief Justice.

Justice Ramaswamy had observed that it was very unfortunate that a leader, in the capacity of the coordinator, had time and again rushed to this court, seeking interference, instead of approaching the general council and convince all by introducing his ideas and plans to party members so as to gain their favour.
