Kheri Violence Case: UP Police arrests Ashish Mishra

Uttar Pradesh Police arrested Ashish Mishra, who is the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra for his non-cooperative behavior.

“For non-cooperation and evasive reply, on these grounds we are taking him into custody and arresting him,” stated Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in-charge of the Probe Upendra Agrawal.

Ashish is accused of running his car over the protesting farmers which resulted in the Death of four farmers in UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri.

Mishra was asked to be present before the Court at 11 AM on Saturday and later on the same day around at 11 PM, the UP Police arrested him.

It is said that Mishra in his Defense had already presented videos and affidavits of 10 persons, claiming that when the violent incident took place, Mishra was not present inside the car.

Ajay Mishra, in the Defense of his son stated that Ashish is innocent as he was not present on the site of the incident and all the allegations against him are fake.

The UP Police took this step after facing serious criticism from the Apex Court regarding Probe conducted by UP Police.

The Apex Court also showed its dissatisfaction over the failure of Government to arrest the key Accused of Lakhimpur Kheri case.

Pointing on the eye witnesses of the case, the Apex Court also stated that in response to such as brutal case the Police normally arrest the accused immediately.

The case is all about Ashish running his car which over protesting farmers which resulted in the death of four farmers UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri.

Apart from this, a Journalist who was covering the incident also died because of the violence.

It should be noted here that an FIR against Ashish has already been filed for Murder, and Criminal Conspiracy in the violent case of Lakhimpur.
