The Kerala High Court on Saturday live streamed its court proceedings for the first time on YouTube.
The proceedings held before the special bench of Justices Anil K Narendran and PG Ajithkumar were streamed live on YouTube.
The bench was dealing with the petition filed in July 2021, contesting the caste requirement mandated by impugned notification issued by the Travancore Devaswom Board for the post of Melshanthi (High Preist) of the Sabarimala Temple.
The Gujarat High Court became first HC to live streamed the court proceedings back in October 2020. Later on, other High Courts followed it including Karnataka, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Patna and Jharkhand, with objective of bringing transparency and better access to court hearings.
The apex court also started live streaming, though in a limited manner with right now Constitutional Bench hearing which is available on YouTube.
