The Karnataka High Court summoned Revanna Siddappa, the President of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Youth Association, for disobeying the Orders of the Court by not shifting the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar which erected by the association without any kind of Legal permission on a public land in Davanagere district of Karnataka.

The Karnataka High Court Division Bench of Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi and Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum had also received a complaint by the State Government who stated that the Respondent 10 (Revanna Siddappa) had been making a ruckus in regards of the removal and shifting of the statue.

The Bench stated, “In view of the fact that undertaking given by Respondent 10 has been disobeyed, we hereby summon the Respondent 10 through its President Revanna Siddappa who had filed the Affidavit of Undertaking to be present before the Court on the next date, so that appropriate action can be taken for disobedience of Court Orders.”

The Bench had issued an Order on August 13th, 2021 which noted that the Illegal action committed by Respondent 10 was done in the name of Dr B R Ambedkar, who was not only the architect and author of the Constitution but also a great human being who believed in the Rule of Law.

The Order furthermore pointed out, “Respondent 10 has shown disrespect to the great human being by committing Illegality in his name. Moreover, Respondent 10 has erected a statue of the great human being on public property.”
