Jammu and Kashmir High Court issues policy on transferring of Judicial Staff

Jammu and Kashmir High Court issued a policy on transferring all the judicial staff of the Subordinate Courts in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The Court said that there should be a complete database which should be maintained by the Secretariat of all the staff, the database shall contain all the records such as details of their posting and other services.

The policy highlights the eligibility and suitability of the staff members, whereas the interest of judicial institutions shall be given the utmost importance while effecting the transfers. 

The minimum tenure of a member staff on any post or place shall be of three years and transfers should be done in the month of April or May.

Besides, any female staff member can make a request for posting in the same place where her spouse is posted only if her spouse is serving in any Government Department.

Any transfer with regard to medical grounds shall only be entertained if it is accompanied duly verified by any health service institution.

The policy further said that no staff members should visit the secretariat directly or indirectly try to influence any canvas or campaign for avoiding or effecting the transfer.
