Human Rights Activist Teesta Setalvad has moved the Supreme Court to seek bail after she was arrested for fabricating documents which falsely framed officials, including the Former Chief Minister Narendra Modi, regarding the 2002 Gujarat Riot case.

Previously, the high court had issued notice to the Special Investigation Team regarding responses to bail applications filed by Setalvad.

The court had contended that there was a collaborated effort between the two individuals to create conflict by making false claims.

On July 30, the Ahmedabad sessions court refused to grant bail to Setalvad.

She had then moved the Gujarat High Court for bail which did not grant any interesting relief and gave a date for the next hearing.

It has been contended by the petitioner that the attack on her has been intensified and the observations made in the PMLA judgement of the Supreme Court is being used against the petitioner.

The matter has been listed further before Justice UU Lalit on August 22.
