Gautam Gambhir Alleged that the Delhi Government has not done anything to get the grip of air pollution crisis in the past six years.

BJP MP Gautam Gambhir on 14 November stated that Delhi Government headed by Arvind Kejriwal has been urged by the Apex Court to take suitable measures to tackle the rising air pollution in the Capital.

He gave the statement after the Supreme Court nudged the Delhi Government to take measures regarding the rising pollution issue in the National Capital.

Speaking to ANI, Gautam Gambhir stated, “The Delhi Government starts remembering everything only after the Supreme Court intervenes. Where were they the whole year? The Government claimed that they have made some medicine to end stubble burning, completely to handle Delhi’ s pollution, where is it now?  What the Kejriwal government done to improve the infrastructure. The public transport system, which is the basic system that forms the spine of the city, he did nothing to develop that either and then how can we expect people to leave their vehicles and use public transport? And they talk about odd – even.”

Mr. Gambhir claimed that the Delhi Government did nothing to fight this issue for past six years. He questioned Mr. Kejriwal that if lockdown was an answer for this problem, then why didn’t he do it prior the intervention of Supreme Court.
