First Arrest executed in infamous ‘Sulli Deals’

The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) department of Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested the mastermind of the infamous “Sulli Deals” App.

The “Sulli Deals” android app was launched in the July, 2020 on which inappropriate photos of Muslim women were posted without their consent and were “Auctioned” through the app.

The Police Officials have identified the accused as Aumkareshwar Thakur, aged 26, who is a resident of Newyork City Township, Indore.

The Police has also stated that he had completed his education in BCA from IPS Academy.

The Accused during primary interrogation had admitted that he was one of the members in the group on Twitter and the plan to defame the Muslim women and troll them was first shared there, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (IFSO), KPS Malhotra stated.

“He had developed the code of Github. The access of Github was with all the members of the Twitter group. He had shared the app on Twitter account. The photos of the Muslim women were posted by the group members”, Malhotra stated.

Exactly six months after the launch of this app, another app was launched with the same intention.

A Delhi-based woman Journalist had lodged a complaint at the Delhi Police Station claiming that she was being targeted by an unidentified group on social media application “Bulli Bai”.

The mobile application “Bulli Bai” was also programmed using the US-based GitHub platform. Both the words, “Sulli” and “Bulli” are derogatory terms used for women.

The Police reports stated that the “Bulli Bai” mastermind Neeraj Bishnoi was linked to the “Sulli Deals” app creator.
