ED Summons Maharashtra Minister Anil Parab for Recording Statement

The Transport minister of Maharashtra Anil Parab who belongs to Shiv Sena is summoned by ED for recording his statement on June 15 over money laundering case.

ED has registered the case after the Union Environment Ministry has served him with the notice of show cause for illegal construction of a resort over Dapoli beach in Ratnagiri Maharashtra.

The construction of this resort is the violation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) as it is within 200 meters of range of high tides against CRZ III.

It was alleged that Parab had bought this land as agricultural land for Rupees 1 Crore in 2019 then Sai resort was made on it. It was alleged that he purchased the land in 2017 but deed got registered in 2019.

He sold the land for rupees 1.1 Crore to Sadanand Kadam in 2020. The raids were also conducted against Kadam and Kharmate by Income Tax Department. The probe by Central Board of Direct Tax (CBDT) throw light to the fact that 6 Crore rupees used in the construction of resort that was not accounted.

Parab although denied his link with the resort. The former police officer Sachin Waze alleged that Parab asked him to take out the names of fraud contractors and take 2 Crore from them.

The Waze alleged that Kharmate had bribed the Parab with Crore of rupees. The opposition parties and other parties are alleging BJP of using their position to harass the politicians of other parties and for that using these agencies.

The Parab was also in ED’s radar in the money laundering case of Anil Deshmukh.
