The Delhi High Court has summoned Filmmaker Hansal Mehta and Producer Bhushan Kumar after a suit was filed against them, objecting to their upcoming film ‘Faraaz.’

Faraaz will tell the narrative of the Holey Artisan cafe attack in Bangladesh, which occurred in July 2016.

The Film is based on the 2016 terrorist attack in Dhaka. The concerned families have filed a Lawsuit against the Filmmakers, alleging that the film is titled after the girls’ best friend, Faraaz.

The Lawyer also mentioned that they had issued a Legal Notice to the Filmmaker Hansal Mehta and others for depicting the character of Faraaz in the film without the family’s approval.

They have requested that the film be renamed because it is linked to the families of those who were killed in the terrorist attack.

The makers of ‘Faraaz’ have responded with a ‘Very Ambiguous’ response, according to the lawyer, who has asked for a special screening of the film.

Hansal Mehta said in a statement, “‘Faraaz’ is a story of deep humanity and its ultimate triumph in the face of violent adversity. While it is based on true events, it is also a deeply personal story that I’ve held close to my heart for nearly 3 years.”

They have been summoned to appear in Court on October 28.
