The Delhi High Court said nothing should be tolerated by anyone threatening a girl, woman or child and that the Community should ensure that women do not have to be Intimidated when leaving their homes.

The Bench of Justice Siddharth Mridul and Justice Rajnish Bhatnagar, said they would not grant Bail to Vijay Saini, who was Sentenced to Life in Prison by the Court for the Murder of a 21-year-old woman who broke his leg.

“We cannot and we will not live in a Society where women are fearful of going out of their homes in broad daylight… We are not going to enlarge him on Bail. Zero tolerance against anybody who intimidates any girl, woman or child in this country. Zero tolerance,” he said.

Saini has moved the High Court challenging the Trial Court judgment which Awarded him Life Sentence for the Murder of Delhi University Student, Radhika Tanwar, in 2011.

The girl was shot dead by Saini at Dhaula Kuan foot over bridge, outside Ram Lal Anand College. The incident happened on women’s day.

Justice Mridul said, “Somebody who is as vicious as this, this is what Trial Court said, we have not said anything on it yet… The incident occurred in 2011 and after 11 years there is an instant recall. You can imagine what every girl who leaves her house must have to endure”.

The Court noted that since the man has already been Imprisoned for 11 years, it will hear the Appeal on April 26.
