Delhi HC discharges Kejriwal, 9 other AAP Leaders in CS Assault Case

The Delhi High Court Bench on Wednesday, discharged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and nine other AAP MLAs in a 2018 case of  alleged Assault on Former Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.

The discharge Order was pronounced by a special MP/MLA Court, presided over by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sachin Gupta at Rouse Avenue Court.

However, the Court has ordered the framing of charges against AAP MLAs Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal.

The Police booked Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and nine of the MLAs were for Criminal Conspiracy under Section-120B of the Indian Penal Code, while Prakash Jarwar and Amanatullah Khan were accused of attacking and intimidating a public servant under Sections 186, 353 and 332 of IPC.

The alleged Assault took place at Kejriwal’s official residence on the night of February 19 and 20, 2018 where Anshu Prakash was asked to be present for a meeting.

Following the same, a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged by the former Chief Secretary against Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and 11 others

A detailed order is still awaited.
