Delhi Court takes Cognizance of Cantt Rape Case

Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Friday, September 10th, 2021 took cognizance of the chargesheet filed in a sensational rape and murder case of a nine-year-old girl in the Delhi Cantonment area.

Additional Sessions Judge Ashutosh Kumar listed the matter for further hearing on 29th September 2021, whilst issuing production warrants against all the arrested accused person.

Kuldeep Singh, Laxmi Narayan, Radhey Shyam and Salim Ahmed are the four accused serving judicial custody.

Special investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted in the case under the supervision of the senior officers on daily basis. None of the four accused have been given a clean chit.

The accused persons have been booked under Sections 302, 304, 376, 341, 506 ,201, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code along with Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 3. Of the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Act.

A Delhi Court had earlier ordered Rs. 2.5 lakh interim compensation to the victim’s family.

 On 1st August,2021 a nine-year-old girl was raped, murdered and cremated by a priest and three employees, without the consent of her parents in Delhi’s Old Nangal crematorium near Delhi Cantonment in southwest Delhi.
