The Delhi Police has been directed by the Delhi Court to file an FIR (First Information Report) and to supervise an examination in the communal violence case that occurred in February.

The petitioner Mohammed Saleem, a resident of Yamuna Vihar, submitted evidence in video format against the accused.

He said, “They fired at my home…bullet marks still adorn the walls of my home, and they also hurled petrol bombs, which we, fortunately, doused with water just in time.”

Saleem mentioned Subash Tyagi and Ashok Tyagi, and 16 men were part of this “murderous attack” on his home.

Saleem got arrested on 19th March 2020 as per the police statement towards the court that he filed a false complaint about saving himself. He is now on bail.

“The allegations are serious in nature and pertain to the protection of the right to life and property of the complainant,” the judge said.

The court ordered, “This court deems fit to direct the SHO [station house officer] of Jafrabad to register an FIR at the earliest under appropriate sections of the law on basis of allegations made in the complaint to ensure a fair, independent and impartial investigation…”
