A former Conservative councillor David Turtle was found Guilty of Murdering his wife by running over her with a car deliberately.
David Turtle was Sentenced to 14 years Imprisonment. However, he denies Murdering her and intends to Appeal against the Verdict.
His version of events of the fateful day was that he had an evening of arguments with her wife over what to watch on the television. Then he slept off on the couch when his wife woke him up again and the quarrel intensified.
Later, he decided to go for a drive and did not realize that his wife was in front of the car. Hence, he claims the death of his wife to be a tragic accident.
However, Patrick Serra, the public Prosecutor, dismissed Turtle’s version of events.
Patrick Serra claims that there is no way that Turtle failed to acknowledge the fact that his wife was in front of the car when he started driving it.
Also, if the wife was there lying on the ground wouldn’t she have stood up or screamed?
Also, Major Alain Chauvin, a former cop who Investigated the death of Turtle’s wife told the Court that none of the witnesses believe that it was an accident as she could not have gotten in the front of the car without him seeing her.
Officers believe that Turtle’s wife had laid down in front of the car in an attempt to stop him from leaving.
