A Magistrate Court in Lakhimpur Kheri denied the Bail pleas of Former Union Minister Akhilesh Das’ nephew Ankit Das and two friends, who were accused in the case of farmers’ death on October 3.
Earlier, the Court had rejected the Bail Application of the prime Accused Ashish Mishra, who is the son of Union Minister of State Ajay Mishra.
The Defence Lawyer Awadesh Kumar Singh said, “Since the Lower Court has rejected their Bail Applications, we will soon move the Sessions Court against it.”
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) began recording statements of people present on the alleged site where the incident occurred. The people have been summoned at the Lahimpur Kheri Crime Branch.
Furthermore, the UP Police’s SIT probing the Lakhimpur Kheri deaths and violence is conducting raids at multiple sites of the October 3 incident.
On October 3, four farmers and a journalist were allegedly run over by a convoy of SUVs, which included a car owned by Ajay Mishra.
