Complaint by Bar Association: J&K High Court suspends sub-judge

Imtiyaz Ahmed Lon, a sub-judge, was suspended from service by the Jammu and Kashmir High Court after a complaint was filed against him.

The complaint was filed by the Bar Association, Uri, and the decision for the suspension was taken at the Full Court resolution by the Registrar General of the J&K High Court.

The order passed stated that Imtiyaz Ahmed Lon was liable to pay subsistence allowance as per the rule.

Shamim Ahmad Chalkoo, President of the Bar Association, Uri confirmed that the complaint was filed a few days before the suspension.

The Principal District and Sessions Judge of Baramullah initiated an inquiry after the complaint was filed.

The inquiry report was then sent to the High Court after which the High Court passed the suspension order.

Imtiyaz Ahmed Lon was replaced by Secretary DLSA Kupwara, Noor Mohammad Mir as the sub-judge on 31st December.
