Manoj Mehlawat a Bharatiya Janata Party leader and elected councillor from New Delhi is arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with a bribery case. He was elected from Vasant Kunj a location near New Delhi in 2017 and then represented the BJP.

Manoj Mehlawat had demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakhs and was caught red-handed by the CBI doing so as the construction agency from whom he demanded the bribe had laid down this trap.

He was arrested from Vasant Kunj and the CBI organised a search at his premise and he will now be produced before the court for the custody case.

Due to the increase in corruption, the CBI has managed to arrest various government officials this year including certain officials of the law enforcement agencies.
