A new forensic analysis by Arsenal Consulting has found that an unknown hacker had planted more than 30 documents in activist Rona Wilson’s laptop.

The evidences were planted just days after Bhima Koregaon violence to incriminate the activist.

These documents were cited by the Pune Police and the National Investigation Agency as key evidence incriminating various activists and other professionals.

All the named accused were arrested and jailed without trial or bail for almost three years on charges of conspiring against the Indian State.

The Massachusetts based digital forensic firm examined the electronic copy of the evidence at the request of the defense lawyers.

This is the second independent forensic report which confirms that the evidences cited by the investigating agencies are planted.

As the new report suggest, 22 additional documents were delivered on the activist’s computer after 10 previous documents. One of those 10 letters discussed an alleged plot to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

It includes details of purported meetings of Maoists militants, discussions on fund transfers, communications between alleged Maoists leaders and concerns over state crackdown.

The spokeswoman for the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Jaya Roy stated that the analysis by a government forensic laboratory didn’t indicate that the laptop was compromised by malware.

She further maintained that their investigation is complete and that NIA cannot revisit any evidence based on a private lab’s report.
