Allahabad HC directs the UP Govt to Produce the Old Man, Missing from Hospital during Covid Treatment

The Allahabad High Court expressed great displeasure and directed the Uttar Pradesh Government to produce an old man who went from a TB Sapru Hospital, Prayagraj during Covid Treatment approximately eleven months ago.

The Bench of Justices Surya Prakash Singh and Jayant Banerji said, that the Court may consider directing the Respondents to appear personally and the Court might also impose an exemplary Cost on them if the Corpus is not produced by the next hearing.

The Petitioner, in this Case, is Rahul Yadav seeking his father who had been missing from the Hospital during the Covid treatment since 8 May, 2021.

According to the Petitioner, his father was admitted to the hospital on May 4 for Covid Treatment and then on May 7, the Hospital informed him that his father has been shifted to the Trauma Center as his oxygen declined sharply. However, on May 8 the hospital informed him that his father is missing.

The Court noted that, the Court gave Respondent time to Produce the Corpus but the same was not done.

The Court directed the Respondent to Produce the Corpus before the next Hearing of the Matter or Court might impose Exemplary Cost.
