The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) posted on Twitter claiming that Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister, has been put under house arrest by the Delhi Police.

According to the sources, Arvind Kejriwal has been under house arrest since yesterday after he visited the Singhu border to meet the farmers.

The AAP party claimed that no one is permitted to exit or enter his residence.

The Delhi Police has denied the allegation put forth by the AAP, stating that the deployment has taken place to avoid a clash between Arvind Kejriwal and any other party – concluding that the Chief Minister is not under house arrest.

The Delhi police further posted on Twitter a photo of Arvind Kejriwal’s residence and stated that the chief minister can exercise his Right to Free Movement and that the allegation is incorrect.

The Chief Minister visited the Singhu border in support of the farmers and stated that the farmers would be served as “Sevadars.”

Kejriwal is the first Chief Minister to pay a visit to a protest location.

He openly stated that his party will support the farmers and called for Bharat Bandh today.

He also revealed that the Delhi Police had asked for permission to convert nine stadiums into jails to which the CM denied and did not permit the same.

He lastly stated that he did not pay a visit to the protest as the CM but instead as a “Sevadar” and wanted to show his support to them.

Bharat Bandh has taken place today, and the party workers would be a part of this Bandh.

Soon after his return from the border, his house was surrounded by barricades.

Saurabh Bharadwaj, AAP MLA, interpreted this as a house arrest, and he further claimed that the MLA’s that went to meet the CM on 7th December was beaten up by the police.

According to the reports, workers were also not allowed to meet him and were made to sit and wait outside his residence.

Due to this act of the Delhi Police, the AAP alleged on Twitter that the CM is under house arrest, but the Delhi Police further denied the allegations.
