The Supreme Court pointed out the Manipur government on the ‘pathetic’ conditions of the Covid care centres in the State.

The Manipur government had moved to the Supreme Court challenging the order of the Manipur High Court.

The Order was passed by the Court in July 2020 after seeing no improvement in the Covid care centres and over its pathetic condition.

The Apex Court remarked that “The high court was justified in taking up the issue. Your preparation was pathetic. The Covid care centres were not maintained, even toilets for men and women were not separate. We are not going to give you a certificate of character.”

The Court further remarked “The high courts were the bastions of ensuring that justice was done during Covid. We are not interfering in this. Don’t come to us like this.”
