No Night curfew for now: Delhi Govt to Delhi High court

The Delhi government informed the Delhi High court that the state will not be imposed the Night curfew after a detailed assessment of Covid -19 situation in the national capital.

The court was hearing a petition filed by lawyer Rakesh Malhotra seeking the wide range test to identify the positive cases in national capital .

The status report has been filed before a division bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Subramonium Prasad by the Delhi government.

The submission was associated with last hearing when the Delhi High court asked the Delhi government about the relevance to impose a  night curfew in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the national capital.

While filing the report the government asserted that it taken sufficient steps to in changing matter and proper arrest were made halt the spread of virus the government also take steps to burial and cremation of those who have succumbed to COVID-19 infection.

The government fined Rs.17 crore over 2 lakh challans regarding covid instruction violating cases and the Delhi cops fined about Rs 27 crore against over 5 lakh challans issued by the cops.

The fines collected through challans are deposited in government treasury as per the accounting procedure in government. The COVID-19 related expenditures are being made by departments affected with the allocated funds.

The executive of state alloted 189 enforcement team and 145 enforcement vehicle in the national capital . The Delhi Police has deployed 255 enforcement vehicles and 275 enforcement teams.

The government reported the decline in number of covid cases and death rate in Delhi .

The court remaked the case is not opposing and directed the state to ensure the public safety and to focus on rapid test in Delhi .

The court postponed the furthur hearing before December 14.
