Mask the Identity of Petitioner-Girl Seeking Protection against Parents in Entire Record: Supreme Court

Dismissing a Special Leave Petition and directing the petitioner to approach High Court, the Supreme Court passed an order directing to mask the identity of the petitioner-girl seeking protection against her parent’s incomplete records of the case.

The direction of non-disclosure comes after the name of the petitioner, identity, cause-title and the case details got uploaded on the Supreme Court as well as the Delhi High Court website.

The vacation bench of Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and Aniruddha Bose considering the SLP against a March 9 order of Delhi High Court, directed the state to ensure that adequate safety, protection and education is provided to the petitioner at the hands of her respondent father and respondent uncle.

Earlier on 2nd March, after the petitioner submitted that she had no danger to her life living with her parents, the High Court allowed her to be taken by her parents.

The Court has directed to mask the name of the petitioner in the entire records thereby directing to refer her as Ms X only.
