Delhi High Court had adjourned the hearing till January 12 on a petition related to challenging the reservation of ICU beds for COVID-19 patients in private hospitals.

Justice Navin Chawla had adjourned the matter after the government sought time as it was informed about the de-escalation committee’s latest review meeting.

Earlier, a Division Bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Subramonium Prasad of the High Court of Delhi vacated the stay on reserving 80 percent ICU beds in 33 private hospitals for COVID-19 patients.

The stay was imposed by a single-judge bench of the same court. However, the court directed that no person in case of emergency should run from pillar to post in search of medical help.

The High Court was hearing the petition filed by the Delhi government against the single-judge bench’s interim imposition of interim stay on the reservation of ICU beds to COVID-19 patients.
