The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) put out a message stating and advising lawyers to not to come to the Supreme Court unless it is absolutely necessary. The message comes after nearly 150 officials working at the Supreme Court have been tested positive for Corona Virus.

It has not been officially stated by the Supreme Court itself, no proper guidelines or instructions have been set out by the Supreme Court but the Supreme Court Bar Association advised lawyers not to enter the High Security Zone of the Apex Court.

The aforementioned Message stated, “They have not issued any such circular as of now and therefore entry through Proximity Card will continue. I (Secretary of SCBA) have assured that we will be self-regulating and will take all the necessary precautionary measures to avoid spread of COVID-19 virus.”

The Supreme Court Bar Association stated in the message, “However, as we all know that more than 150 staff of the Supreme Court registry have been found Covid Positive, I earnestly request all of you to avoid entering the high security zone until (sic) very urgent as it may lead to stricter measures.”

The Supreme Court Bar Association mentioned that the Supreme Court Registry will put out helpline numbers for communication in case anyone has any query related to this. The message stated, “It has been assured that the calls would be attended by the staff of the registry so that no inconvenience is caused to our members.”
