The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate has granted bail to both comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiya.

The couple was remanded to judicial custody after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided their house to recover marijuana.

During the hearing on 21st November, NCB sought Bharti’s judicial custody.

Advocate Ayaz Khan, representing the couple, argued that the need for custodial interrogation was not required as the contraband substance recovered was less than the prescribed quantity under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Under the NDPS Act, 1 kilogram of Ganja (Marijuana) is considered a commercial quantity.

The Court had accepted Khan’s submission and granted bail to the couple on a PR bond of Rs 15,000 each.

Bharti and her husband were booked by NCB in judicial custody till December 4.

They were arrested under Sections 20(b)(ii)(A) 8(c) and 27 of the NDPS Act.

NCB has stated that the couple has confessed to the consumption of ganja.
